1. Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- What we collect: name, email, contact details, location you give us (for example a postcode), reservation and order details, and technical data such as device type and pages visited.
- Why we use it: to run the marketplace, show nearby shops, process reservations, give support, prevent fraud and improve the site.
- Marketing: we send emails only if you subscribe, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Sharing: we share the details a seller needs to fulfil your order or reservation, and use trusted service providers (such as hosting and email). We do not sell your personal data.
- Location: if you use Use my location, it is used only to find nearby shops and is not stored on our servers.
- Retention: we keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
3. Cancellation policy
How you can cancel depends on how you buy.
- Online orders: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can usually cancel within 14 days of receiving your device. See Returns & refunds below.
- Reservations: you can cancel a reservation free of charge at any time before collection.
- Seller cancellations: a seller may cancel if an item is out of stock or a listing contains an error. You will be told promptly and refunded in full.
To cancel, contact the seller using the details in your order confirmation, or use the Help Centre if you need assistance.
4. Returns and refunds
Your statutory rights are not affected by anything in this policy.
- Change of mind (online orders): you can return the device within 14 days of receiving it. Contact the seller first, and return the device in the condition you received it.
- Faulty or not as described: you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including a short-term right to reject within 30 days of delivery.
- Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within 14 days of the seller receiving the device back.
- Collections in store: please inspect the device before you pay. If it is not as described, tell the seller immediately and do not accept it.
- Before returning a device, back up your data, remove accounts and turn off locks such as Find My or Google account protection.
5. Warranties
Each offer shows the warranty provided by the seller, for example 6-month or 12-month. The warranty is in addition to your legal rights.
- What is usually covered: faults with how the device works that were not caused by you.
- What is usually not covered: accidental damage, liquid damage, unauthorised repairs and normal wear.
- Making a claim: contact the seller shown on your order or reservation, with proof of purchase.
Always check the warranty length and terms on the offer before you buy.
6. Delivery and collection
- Delivery: sellers set their own delivery methods, costs and timescales, shown before you pay.
- Check your parcel on arrival and report visible damage to the seller within 48 hours.
- Collection: collect from the shop within the time stated on your reservation or order, with your confirmation and photo ID.
7. Payments and fees
- Comparing offers and reserving devices on CLEVABUY is free for buyers.
- The price you see is the price you pay. Delivery costs, if any, are shown before payment.
- Payments are processed securely. We do not store your full card details.
8. Seller standards
Sellers must be verified before listing and must keep to our standards.
- Accurate listings and honest condition grading.
- Fair treatment of customers, including returns and warranty claims.
- We may remove listings or suspend sellers who repeatedly fall short.
9. Complaints and disputes
- Contact the seller first and give them a fair chance to put things right.
- If you are not satisfied, contact CLEVABUY support and we will review the issue.
- You may also use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider where one is available.
